OFFICER ALEXANDER LANG

September 2, 1932

A 12 yr veteran of the Department, Ofc. Lang was the first Lansing Officer to die in the line of duty when he was struck by a vehicle while working. 

OFFICER GOTTLIEB SOHN

 May 23, 1943

Ofc. Sohn was a Lansing officer for 24 years when he suffered a heart attack responding to a call during the course of his foot beat patrols.

OFFICER MAC J. DONNELLY, JR.

June 16, 1977

Ofc. Donnelly was a 9 year veteran who was tragically shot and killed in the line of duty while responding to an elaborate bank robbery.

OFFICER DEAN WHITEHEAD

May 9, 1985

Ofc. Whitehead was a police officer and pilot in our aviation unit when he died as a result of a helicopter crash. Ofc. Whitehead was a officer with the department for 8 years.

LANSING PARKS POLICE

OFFICER JULIE ENGLEHARDT

February 12, 1988

While performing her duties as a member of the Lansing Parks police, Ofc. Englehardt was shot and killed responding to a larceny report at a sledding hill.

Killed as a result of vehicle accident involving the canine handler's patrol car.
